Literacy ratesIn 2020, 90% of the world’s population had completed primary education, but only 66% had attained a secondary education. Adult men are generally more literate than women, but the gender gap has narrowed for younger generations. 

Children with disabilities93 to 150 million children with disabilities are denied access to school. In some of the world’s poorest countries, up to 95% of children with disabilities are out of school.
